Welcome to my
little corner
of the internet

Hi, nice to meet you! My name is Melaina Martin, and I am a digital artist and photographer living in Gloucester, Virginia. I graduated in the spring of 2026 from Virginia Peninsula Community College located in Hampton, VA. I graduated with an AAS in Graphic and Media Design, and I plan on continuing my academic journey at a four-year college. My art style blends photography of people and animals with vibrant, bright-toned digital design, in programs like Adobe Photoshop to create engaging visuals. In 2022, I took 2nd place with "Pepper Love," a digital painting of my childhood dog, for the Tidewater region in the Virginia School Boards Association Student Art Contest. When I'm not in school, I take the proud title of floral designer at my small town's flower shop, Gloucester florist. I believe floral design is a decorative craft, as you can create various different compositions and design styles using flowers, foliage, and other materials. While I am extremely passionate about floral design, I will eventually end that chapter of my life and continue to be behind the camera and the computer.

Artist Statement

My art focuses on digital art and photography inspired by everyday life and subjects. I approach my work with a realistic style, aiming to capture scenes and details in a way that feels familiar and straightforward. Editing photos and videos has always been something I enjoy doing, and it comes naturally to me as a way to improve and polish the pictures I take. Beginning a digital piece is always the most difficult part of my process, but once I start, the ideas begin to flow as I go. I don't intentionally create art based on emotion for viewers, but each piece holds a personal feeling of how I felt during the time of creating, as I have a very vivid memory. My brain is strictly real-life scenarios and emotions. Social media and brand design inspires me, motivating me to see my work beyond the screen.
